Road Department Foreman: Dan Rupert

The Shenango Township Road Department has four full-time employees and a seasonal staff. The Department provides the community with road maintenance and repairs. They are also responsible for snow and ice removal, street signs, township park maintenance, cemetary maintenance, and equipment and vehicle maintenance. The township has 48 miles of township-maintained roads.

Our road crew works very hard to keep the roads cleared during inclement weather. The road crew currently has 3 dump trucks with snow plows, back hoe, front end loader, and assorted other equipment to maintain roadways, the park and the cemetary.

PennDOT should be contacted at (724) 656-3104 for questions or complaints regarding state roads.

When the snow starts flying, please keep these things in mind:

  • Do keep access to the mailbox cleared for postal service; this is the responsibility of the resident.
  • Do not shovel snow onto the road.
  • Try not to park on the street during snow removal time.

Private roads and private lanes are not the township’s responsibility. If you see a township road condition that needs attention, please call the township road crew at (724)528-9571 Ext. 5. Please keep safe!
